I hold an MA in psychoanalysis and philosophy and a Ph.D. in philosophy. I am also a registered member of the American Philosophical Practitioners Association (APPA)—an institute that specializes in philosophical and existential approaches to counselling and therapy—and of the National Philosophical Counselling Society (NPCA), the premier institute of Logic Based Therapy (LBT).
I teach philosophy and psychoanalytic theory at a university level. My courses and research center around time and memory; trauma, both individual and inherited; the experience of nihilism and meaninglessness; the relationship between language and meaning; and the inherent difficulty of social existence. I also have experience across several universities teaching and mentoring individuals and groups in logic and dialectic; rhetoric and communication; ethical dilemmas; the relationship between myth and fact; and what it means to be a self in relation to others.
Finally, I carry with me the fruits of many years of self-analysis, much of which occurred in conjunction with my psychoanalytic studies and projects undertaken under the supervision of a practicing psychoanalyst and training analyst.
